After much anticipation, Flintlock: The Siege of Dawn has finally announced its release date, accompanied by some exciting news for eager fans. The game made a brief appearance during the Xbox Showcase, unveiling a captivating new trailer and revealing the long-awaited release date.
The action RPG is set to launch on July 18, just over a month away. However, the bigger news is the availability of a demo as part of Steam Next Fest. The demo will be ready for download later today, coinciding with the start of the festival, on the game’s Steam page.
The release date trailer also hinted at the game’s genre. While Flintlock has elements reminiscent of Soulslike games and spectacle fighters, with moves synchronized to a beat, it was described in the trailer as a Souls-lite, a term that appears to indicate a game with fewer Soulslike elements than usual.
Flintlock: The Siege of Dawn will be a day-one Game Pass release on PC and Xbox Series X/S, and will also launch on PS5 on the same day. On PC, the game will be available for purchase on both Steam and the Epic Games Store.
Two years ago, I had the opportunity to speak with the developer about the game’s launch on Game Pass and its potential impact on sales outside the subscription service.
