Swedish local weather activist Greta Thunberg has been charged with disobeying a police order throughout a protest in her residence nation.
The 20-year-old environmental campaigner was arrested after allegedly refusing to depart the demonstration within the southern metropolis of Malmo on 19 June.
Activists reportedly blocked oil tankers within the harbour.
An announcement by Swedish prosecutors mentioned a « younger girl » – confirmed as Ms Thunberg by the prosecution company – was charged as a result of she « refused to adjust to police orders to depart the scene ».
The crime of disobedience is often punishable with a high-quality if convicted, however there’s a likelihood the activist may withstand six months in jail.
Ms Thunberg posted on Instagram throughout the protest saying: « The local weather disaster is already a matter of life and demise for numerous individuals.
« We selected to not be bystanders, and as a substitute bodily cease the fossil gas infrastructure. We’re reclaiming the long run. »

Ms Thunberg will reportedly face a trial on the finish of July.
